South Coast Pastel Society (SCPS)(Adapted from an article written by Lyn Woolridge. Copyright SCPS). The idea of a pastel society on the South Coast was first conceived in the mid seventies by a small group of artists led by Lee Miller, accomplished artist and gallery owner, now established in Mogo (a nearby art and craft focussed township on the highway). The South Coast Pastel Society is currently the only active pastel group in New South Wales Australia, making it a unique organisation in our region. The society welocomes membership from amateur and professional artists, or interested parties from anywhere in the Suoth Coast region, and organises activities including monthly meetings, weekly paint-outs, workshops, exhibitions and social activities. The societ's activities are orientated toward developing skills and knowledge, encouraging an appreciation of pastel painting and encouraging community involvement in the arts. The Society meets monthly at the Tomakin Sports & Social Club, Tomakin. Call Lyn Woolridge SCPS President on +61 (0)2 4471 3056 for details.
