Grace is an artist who specialises in the medium of pastel, and as Grace herself will testify, she has always enjoyed and been confident in her own abilities to draw.
Grace studied Graphic Design at Swinburne in Melbourne for two years and life drawing and portraiture at East Sydney Technical College. Having very much enjoyed the life of the art student, Grace feels that the best instruction she received was working privately in oils with the late Leslie Sinclair at Monsalvat in 1985.
Grace greatly appreciated her expertise in tonal impressionism and her honesty and quiet humility. Grace also benefited from the tuition of the late Allan Martin at his studio in Eltham, and while never having had lessons in pastel, Grace is confident that her founding in oil paved the way perfectly for her later work in pastel.
